Today we are showing you how to create a totally custom project using the Cricut Explore Air 2 + Cricut Design Space software. With Valentine’s Day coming up, we thought it would be a great time to show you how to design a card and print it in under 20 minutes.
Materials Needed:
Three (3) 12×12 sheets of paper
Your favorite glue stick
Cricut Design Space
Cricut Explore Air
This project is created entirely using Cricut Design Space shapes! So you won’t need any other images for this project. 🙂
1. Click on Insert Shapes 2. Click on the Square 3. Click the lock and adjust the dimensions to 7×10 (This is going to be your 5×7 folded card) 4. Click Insert Shapes 5. Click Score Line 6. Place the scoreline across the card at the 6″ mark (note: it is at 6 inches because the card starts at the 1″ line not the 0″) 7. Click Insert Shapes 8. Insert Heart 9. Click lock on heart 10. Adjust heart to fit the front of the card and adjust the heart color by right clicking on the heart 11. Once adjusted, highlight heart and card 12. With card and heart highlighted, click the layers panel (top right of screen) 13. Click Attach14. Click Insert Heart 15. Adjust heart size (see pink heart in picture) 16. Click Text 17. Add your text (i.e. Love) 18. Highlight heart and text 19. With heart and text highlighted, click layers then attach20. Click Insert Shapes 21. Click Heart 22. Insert five (5) hearts 23. Adjust the size of the hearts (see image) and place around the card 24. Insert a 5×7 square 25. Click Make Project and then Go into Cricut Design Space26. Insert your first sheet of paper. This will produce the folded card. Have fun with the paper and do something unexpected.27. Follow the directions that Cricut Design Space gives you. Insert your next paper. This paper will be what you use for the hearts.
28. Glue the 5×7 square piece inside the card (pattern facing down). The pattern is what will show through the card on the front side. For added touch you can use the cut out of the heart on the inside. I love to use all of the scrap pieces.
29. Glue down the heart with the love cut out on the front30. Glue the rest of the hearts (bonus: I also glued the letters for love above the heart. This way I use all my scraps and it makes the card stand out.Final Card! How adorable
