I am reconnecting with my long held beauty obsessions lately. I’ve spent more money on makeup and skincare in the last two months than I have in years. I’ve loved everything makeup, skincare and beauty since I was a young child but life got in the way of it all and recently I’m reclaiming my love back. It’s so refreshing to have fun with makeup and skincare. It has become another outlet for me to create and lose myself in a fantasy world of sorts. So in this tutorial I’m combining both my love of skincare/beauty and my love of DIY. Grab your favorite Rose and water and join me in making Rose Water.

According to Elle, dermatologists recommend Rose Water to calm acne and rosacea. If you have been reading or following me for a long time you know that I suffer from adult acne. So anything that is not going to inflame my skin and is going to assist me with treating my acne is definitely something I am willing to try. You can also pour this into your bathwater and/or use it to spray mist your sheets. Once made, it has a lovely aroma.

So what will you need to make this amazing beauty and lifestyle treat?

• Roses
• Water
• Pot
• Strainer
• Container (Glass containers shown purchased at Hobby Lobby)

What I like to do is buy fresh roses and set them in my vase. It brightens up the house and makes me feel happier when I look at them. Once they have been in the vase for a few days (before they start to wilt) I pluck them to get them ready to use for the Rose Water. Once you have plucked them, remove all of the seeds. You only want to use the petals for the water.

1. 1. 1. Remove the petals from the stem. I used two stems worth of roses for this tutorial.
      2. Put the petals in a pot of already simmering water. For this tutorial, I filled a small pot leaving about an inch and a half from the top of the pot before putting the roses in. 
      3. Let the roses simmer in the pot until they completely lose their color.
      4. Once the roses have lost their color, strain them so that you only have the liquid left.
      5. Then pour the Rose Water into your container of choice. The container shown is from Hobby Lobby. You can also use a spray bottle if you want to use it to mist your sheets or as misting water for your face.
